Impact Training Institute, a premier private human capital development college in Zimbabwe, is poised to expand its academic portfolio with the introduction of certificate programs in electronics, risk management, and disaster management commencing in the forthcoming academic year. This strategic initiative aligns with the institution’s commitment to offering industry-relevant courses that cater to the burgeoning demand for specialized skills in the job market.

Founded by the erudite Professor Ellias Chakabwata, Impact Training Institute has established a remarkable track record, having empowered over 2,000 students since its inception. The institution’s current curriculum encompasses a diverse range of programs, including project management, monitoring and evaluation, marketing, cosmetology, and transport management, all offered in collaboration with esteemed UK-based examination boards such as the Institute of Commercial Management (ICM), the Institute of Administration and Commerce, and the Association of Business Managers and Administrators (ABMA).

To accommodate the escalating demand for its services, Impact Training Institute intends to decentralize its operations, establishing satellite campuses in locations beyond Harare. Professor Chakabwata identified the institution’s primary challenge as securing land to expand its reach into areas with significant semi-literate populations, with a specific focus on enhancing the socio-economic empowerment of women through practical life skills acquisition.

The institution’s course offerings include vocational training programs such as braiding, weaving, and tailoring, designed to foster entrepreneurial capabilities among learners. To enhance accessibility, Impact Training Institute plans to establish additional operating centers nationwide, mobilizing essential equipment and machinery to support practical courses.

Notably, the institution has hosted successful capacity-building seminars, attracting participants from diverse geographical locations. In response, Impact Training Institute aims to decentralize these seminars, hosting them in various locations beyond Harare in the upcoming year.

As a registered and accredited institution with the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Impact Training Institute provides flexible learning options, including virtual and face-to-face tutorials. Professor Chakabwata’s exemplary leadership was recognized with the 2023 Best Leadership Consultant Award in Southern Africa, underscoring his commitment to excellence in human capital development.
